πΏ About Theppakadu Elephant Camp
Established over 100 years ago, Theppakadu is one of the oldest elephant camps in Asia, operated by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. Here, trained (kumki) elephants live under the care of experienced mahouts and forest staff, who feed, bathe, and care for them daily.
π Elephant Feeding Schedule
Visitors can watch as the elephants are:
Led to the camp in the morning or evening
Fed traditional nutritious meals like ragi balls, bananas, and jaggery
Gently bathed and cared for by their mahouts

Morning Feeding: Around 7:00 AM β 8:00 AM
Evening Feeding: Around 4:30 PM β 5:30 PM
